Re: Today in pictures
Huncoat Pit was today's exploration, the scramble bikes are still ripping it up, on the plus side the ground is dry and not as muddy as was my last visit. I was expecting more blue this time, I was disappointed.
1. The top end of the site are littered with these huge rocks, no idea as to there origin.
2. Despite the overnight rain and sleet the water flow is on the gentle side.
3. Just time to dip it in the water.
4. Small patches of Wood Anemones are dotted around the waters edge.
5.You wouldn't guess the motorway is just over the hill to the right and a field away.
6. Seed heads of the Coltsfoot plant.
7. Looking down the site from the top end.
8.The Persimmon Meteor that fell to Earth in 1946 collapsing tunnel 7 belonging to the National Coal Board, NO it isn't, its just a big rock.
9. Back to the blue bits and wet bits.
10. And with that last shot it was time to leave, a rather sunny but chilly outing.
