More than one euphemism? And as not too many folks believe in the Third Commandment any more, maybe we should call it "archaic." Except for conservative (not as in "tory" ) fundamentalist muslims, or American born again weirdos, not too many take blasphemy all that seriously any more, or are even sure what "blasphemy" is.

Maybe DtheP is attempting politeness. Euphemisms are most commonly used to avoid offending people. For example, you phone your bank. A recorded message comes on: "I'm sorry; I'm away from my desk right now. Please phone back. Your call is important to me." Now, isn't that better than: "I had to take a shiite. Call back when I'm done."?
