Re: 2018/19 Prediction League; Game 42 v Walsall FC (home)

The Contenders Are Down To Two, The Gap Is Down To Three, Games To Go Is Down To Four …..

Our leader Lord Stiffupperlip nailed his colours firmly to the fence against Walsall, while contender Kiwi John got off the fence to go for a Stanley win, but failed to get out of bed to follow the game from half a world away . Resulting in 4 points for the Kiwi and only 1 for the noble Lord, and the gap at the top halved from 6 to 3 . And with Accytom18 and NigeB only taking 3 points, and Monkey Hanger, also sitting on the fence, just the 1, Accytom moves back onto the podium in third, but can no longer reach the pinnacle. It is now indeed a two-horse race, and one which cannot be resolved by the next game alone.

There were only 5 maxis to be seen. Mab's was not enough to move him up from 7th, Leylandii's took him from 13th to 11th, Revived Red's from 17th to 14th. Tommy McQueen also stood still, but huge progress was made by he-who's-user-name-I-refuse-to-type-more-than-once-a-season , aka Lord Damp Squib , who more than doubled his points tally and soared from 36th= to 32nd. Everyone else not yet mentioned got 3 or 4.

Lord S and MH were joined on the fence by Ossy Kid, who got nowt for his 0-0 trouble, and the only predictor of total gloom was Taypot. Both duly crashed out of the elite , falling from 8th to 12th and 10th to 15th respectively, with Outback Ozzy and Cashman taking their places at the bottom of the top table by acquiring 4 points each .

So it's roll on Luton on Easter Saturday . It doesn't look as though they'll be darkening our doors next season , so it would be nice to say goodbye to them by giving them a hiding , wouldn't it? And that wouldn't do our chances of survival any harm …. perhaps if Kiwi just stays in bed again …..

On Stanley On!!
