Re: 2019/20 Prediction League; Game 34 v Oxford United (away)

Better Late Than Never, Part 1 - Monkey Hanger Stretches Away

As there’s not a lot else going on just now , I thought I might as well spin out my post-holiday catch-up over a few days, or maybe weeks, but here’s the first instalment, rounding up events on Tuesday 25th February, when you may remember things didn’t go too well at Oxford .

Eight realists jumped the fence for this one , though no-one managed a maxi for forecasting the 3-0 loss. At the top of the heap, 4 for Monkey Hanger , compared with zip for Valairian , extended MH’s lead to 6 points. Nige B’s 3 closed him up on Val, now only holding 2nd by 2, and 4 for Accybeme saw him slide past a pointless Outback Ozzy into 4th. 4 for Ossy Kid took him from 8th to 6th, and 4 each for Cashman and Taypot saw them leap into the elite , 14th to 8th and 16th to 10th respectively. 3 points for Ange B saw her up from 20th to 17th, but the same for Tommy McQueen only produced a rise from 22nd to 21st.

And the rest of us (13 loyalists and 5 drawmongers) gained a grand total of precisely no points between the lot of us , as 3 for them and none for us didn’t enter into anyone else’s equations. The shame of eviction from the top table was suffered by Stevie R and Watchdog, now sitting in 11th and 12th.

This is where I would normally say “so it’s roll on the Trotters” and I would probably have been cautiously optimistic about our prospects . But as it is, I’ll just say “roll on the next instalment” and leave you waiting to see if anything changed following that little local awayday ….

On Stanley On!!
