Less...Next Friday in the next Friday that comes along.(which in this instance would have been July 30th.) So the young lady was wrong(and it is nothing to do with age..it is to do with logic...she has none)
The appointment you were being offered is a week on Friday.
Next Friday means the next Friday that comes along...if you had been making this appointment this Friday.....then the receptionist would have been right....but she was wrong.
