I'd agree that to me AW is not social media. its the progression from the bulletin boards of the early and pre internet days. the idea of following and friends doesn't really sit here, we all subscribe to see everything and filter ourselves... actually FB is so bad now for deciding what they want me to see, good friends of mine don't show up on my feed unless I have interacted directly in recent times so people drop away when I am actually still interested in that keeping up with people and their lives.
