My husband was working in Saudi Arabia and I went out to join him. Alcoholic drinks were (still are?) forbidden but he'd managed to get hold of some illegally distilled stuff. He'd got a recipe for a drink very similar to Bailey's and made a batch before I arrived. He poured me a glassful and stood back, smiling and pleased with himself, to watch me take the first sip. I tasted it and I couldn't help pulling a face - it was thin, watery and horrible.
It helps if you know the difference between condensed milk and
evaporated. One's thick and sweetened - the other's not.
