Friday night thread wander , .... If memory serves, I used to used to eat at a "White Russian" restaurant in pre-revolution Tehran which used to serve the kidneys of un-born lambs as an appitizer, (not in-expensive) , the lambs had been 'aborted' for their skins which was used for fine quality Astrakhan fur products, also on the menu were Ortolans, (five/six small Wren like birds served on a skewer,) you held the bird by the beak and sucked everything off ...delicious .
