Removing the CMOS Battery or putting a jumper on the clr CMOS for a few seconds-- I think it may be suitable solution(just dont quote me on that) it could be that it is a lot more difficult to do with a laptop. I have never had to take one apart so I don't know. An example: I modified my sony PS2 with a ghostcase and that was extremely hard work to put back together. The original xbox1 however is easier to take apart and put back together than a tower.

Does it have a windows operating system that loads up? (perhaps you could flash the bios)

Some bios have backdoor passwords. Have you tried dell or Dell or DELL

I had a very similar problem with an Acer laptop. It turned out to be a bug in the laptop/bios and Acer refused to admit it. Turned out lots of people on-line said that the password set itself.
