Re: v Cheltenham

Official attendance figures said 118 visitors Macca - or so we were told in the second half!

If anybody wants to hear what Chris Turner had to say about the game and his first goal for the club, you can listen to him here: 2br -

Hopefully that'll work!

Those Cheltenham supporters took the trouble to make a 300-mile round trip, paying good money at our turnstiles and even putting more into our buckets.
They conducted themselves well, they supported their team well and they were magnanimous in defeat.

Don't you dare criticise them. They're the ones who turned up.

If you must, criticise the Accringtonians who stayed away.

It was obvious to all present (see another thread not too far away from this one) that the attendance figure would have been far lower had it not been for Stanley enthusiasts from across the country.

Anyway, how do you know that they weren't singing?

You don't, because of the incessant noise from that bloody drum!

I was on the coppice side of the main stand and the Cheltenham Fans were silent bar one or two half hearted attempts at song. Credit to them coming up long trip and that not knocking them but to say they supported their team vocally would be a lie.

I think that it is always unwise to suggest that anyone might be telling a lie.

Especially when misquoting them.

Re: v Cheltenham

Whether they sang or whether they didn't, credit to the people who turned up from Cheltenham, a long trip, to a game which they really didn't end up having much to shout about and they were still gracious enough to dig into their own pockets and put a few quid into the fund to save our club.

Result Aside, I hope they've had a safe jouney back, enjoyed a few beers whilst they've been up here and hopefully return again in the league sometime.....singing optional !!

From myself at least, for any Cheltenham fans reading this, thanks for your support today.
