Unbelievable achievement!
What a superb effort from everyone involved with the Stanley from the behind-the-scenes staff, all the management and directors, coaching staff, Lord Coleman and Sir James Bell, every player on and off the pitch, and those loyal fans lucky enough to have been part of history in the making.

Re: Glovers Game Thread

So happy to be part of 'a night to remember ' at The Wham... Having witnessed so many ups and downs over the years, and a few heartbreaks, it was good to see our Team play well win well, and to enjoy their moments of victory !.
I remember too, as will all of you, all those absent friends who would have been so happy to have shared in tonight's success, we know who they are, so spare them a thought tonight.
But back to tonight, it wasn't just the win but the way it was achieved that must have given us all so much pleasure and satisfaction, and to JC and JB a sense of a job almost completed for this season. I do hope that the team will finish as Champions because these men deserve nothing less !.

ON STANLEY !... ON TO EVEN GREATER THINGS !!.

Re: Glovers Game Thread

Am sat at home feeling very emotional and smiling.
First 20 minutes Yeovil started brightly and had me concerned but then the red men got a grip of the game and took control with 2 super Billy kee goals. Second half some of the football we played was breathtaking only criticism is we should have with the chances we had sent home Yeovil without a sniff in case they got a late goal. But then we saw the game out professionally again. So proud of the whole team tonight, they all played well. The atmosphere was awesome tonight. How luck are we to have a club like this!

Re: vs Yeovil match thread.

Shrewsbury town fan here in peace .
Many congratulations on achieving promotion . Absolutely brilliant performance by your team this season .
All true football fans should be delighted to see you promoted .
Looks like we could well see you at our place next season if we fail to get promoted as it looks like the play offs for us and that's a lottery .
Once again congrats , a proper football club with proper fans have got what they deserve .

Re: Glovers Game Thread

Tonight will live long in the memory of every Stanley fan who was there to witness this football miracle.
We have made a monkey of our tin-pottery, low gates & a ludicrous budget to achieve the impossible.
This surely ranks along with Leicester winning the Premier League title.
Thank you - to our wonderful squad of little known over-achievers.
Thank you - to John & Jimmy for giving our boys the belief that they could beat anyone!
Thank you - to that loyal core of fans who followed our team come rain, hail or shine & yes, to all those who have just come to the party - Welcome!
Thank you - to all those unsung heroes who work tirelessly behind the scenes. The office girls, the groundsman, the kit-man, the cleaners & kiosk staff. The volunteers who give their time for no reward other than their love for our club.
And above all! Thank you to the man who made all of this possible. Who saved our club from certain bankruptcy, wiped-off our debt & got us on an even keel.
Thank you Mr Andy Holt - If you don't win the freedom of the borough, it will be an injustice.
All have helped to bring Accrington Stanley into the spotlight of fame.
But a bigger prize awaits - Accrington Stanley, League 2 Champions.
Surely it is our destiny!

Re: Glovers Game Thread

One for the stats people:

Who has the record for most promotions with a single club?

Coley has got to be up there with 4?

Re: Glovers Game Thread

What a wonderful evening in the continuing history of ACCRINGTON STANLEY!

The players and management deserve all of the plaudits that are coming in for what has been a simply MAGNIFICENT ACHIEVEMENT!

Yeovil proved to be no pushovers and played their part in a great match competing until the final whistle!
Stanley tonight were just on another level as they competed for every ball and chased SHADOWS in order to stop their opponents getting into the match.
It was so pleasing to see Billy Kee get two goals to keep him at the head of the leading scorers list but we were also willing the likes of Kayden Jackson and young Jimmy Dunne to get on the score-sheet too. Every one of our eleven ran their hearts out tonight....tackling....covering....chasing lost causes and playing some scintillating football along the way.
Of course the two goals mid way through the first half eased all of the supporters nerves. Billy's first goal, a BULLET near post header looked superb even form the Clayton End and the whole ground was just bouncing with appreciation and excitement!
As the second half progressed we were urging Stanley to get a third goal to put our minds at ease and Yeovil did have a period of ten minutes or so late on when they put us under some pressure. Our resolute defence withstood their efforts and we played out the closing minutes very professionally to seal the victory and PROMOTION TO LEAGUE ONE for the first time in the club's history!
What a moment to live in the memory and what a wonderful celebration on the pitch after the final whistle!
My daughter and I went into the clubhouse to celebrate after the match and it was brilliant to see the players letting their hair down and celebrating the victory! Mark Hughes was particularly exuberent even pulling a pint himself and then downing it in one!
This season has been just amazing and for John Coleman and Jimmy Bell to have achieved so much with these players, many of whom have been discarded by other clubs, is just MAGNIFICENT!
Aaaron Chapman - Some of use had doubts about him early on but he is now some shot stopper with lots of clean sheets under his belt. What an improvement!
Callum Johnson - This lad has a great future ahead of him. Looked a bit lacking in pace early on but when Coley and Jimmy slotted him into the right back position he has certainly made it his own and he adds to our attacking armoury as well.
Mark Hughes - plays a lot like Bobby Moore and imparts his experience to the players around him so well and he has scored some important goals too.
Jimmy Dunne - Simply tremendous! He has loved playing with the Stanley and he too has a great future! I hope that for his sake and Stanley's that we can have him for another season. Then I think that he will be a Burnley first team regular for years to come!
Janoi Donacien - What a wonderful athlete and although he has had to play out of position at left back for most of the season he has been brilliant. Tonight the Yeovil right winger looked dangerous but Janoi just covered him superbly!
Jordan Clarke - What a revelation this young man has been. His work-rate is phenomenal, chasing back, getting in front of opponents in order to ease the job of our defenders but also going forward, constantly causing opposing defenders problems and setting up chances for our players in the middle. Who will ever forget his solo wonder goal the other week!
Seamus Coneely - He has been a real Captain all season and has always been at the centre of our play. He was brilliant again tonight against Yeovil. His performances sometimes go somewhat unnoticed but I know how good this lad is!
Scotty Brown - Has got better and better as the season has progressed and he has rightly cemented his place in the team. When you consider the horrendous injury early on in his career it is amazing how well he his playing now.
Sean McConville - Has had his best season and has scored some wonderful goals at important times. Like Jordan Clarke his work rate is superb, chasing back in defence and finding some great positions to receive passes. Did a good job as Captain when Seamus was out for a short spell injured!
Kayden Jackson - Stanley's own GAZELLE! He is like lightning and he has had a wonderful season too. His work rate is just awesome and his ability to chase down opposing defenders and leave them standing is so impressive!
Well...The best is saved to the last......
Billy Kee - Billy is this decades 'Mr Accrington Stanley'. Billy certainly wears his colours on his sleeve and on his whole kit too! To achieve what he has this season, having publicly aired his life issues, has been so moving. His appreciation for what John Coleman has done for him too is a wonderful example to so may people of how you can face up to really serious issues when you put your trust in those who love you!

Our other lads have played their parts too and although John has chosen to play a settled eleven for the last quarter of the season they have stepped up when needed. This was exemplified perfectly two matches ago when Janoi picked up a knock and big Ben Everton-Richards came on and slotted in perfectly!

WELL DONE TO THE WHOLE STANLEY FRATERNITY FOR ACHIEVING THE UNTHINKABLE!
STANLEY ARE PROMOTED TO LEAGUE ONE!
