Played them off the park, bloody brilliant lads - really didn't expect that!! Pity Luton equalised but it just postponed the inevitable

A wonderful result for the STANLEY Juggernaut at Wycombe....... 0 - 4.

To put our run into perspective.....
On January 1st when our match v Morecambe was abandoned........

STANLEY were only in .......10th place!

ON STANLEY ON
Only one point needed now
STANLEY ........ CHAMPIONS ELECT

Re: Wycombe Wanderers Match Thread

What an unbelievable day of football; all three teams at the top of the EFL leagues win 0-4, and Stanley make 3 substitutions in one match!
Surely an historic day!
Stanley were just superb today, the best all-round performances I've watched this season. The scoreline didn't flatter the Reds and, illnesses or not, Wycombe were not bad. If Chappers hadn't made a 'Banksian' save in the opening 15 minutes, it may have changed things but, by about the time of Jacko's opening goal, Stanley were in control, and never took their foot off the pedal. Great defensive work, covering for each other to snuff out Wycombe attacks. Great midfield battling, and closing down their players in their own half. And great forward play, with four goals as different to each other as is possible.
Really pleased to see the captain give the ball to Zanzala after he rightly won the penalty, and even more delighted for the No.9 that he took it with aplomb.
Finally, great performance too from the Stanley faithful who helped make it a day in the sun to remember.

Re: Wycombe Wanderers Match Thread

For my money, after a shaky start this season, Chappers has been FANTASTIC. am well pleased for the lad.

Re: Wycombe Wanderers Match Thread

I agree with you Cashy and a few months ago I wasn't too impressed with Scott Brown but what a player he's been recently, in fact on the whole it is difficult to argue that any one in the squad shouldn't be there.

That's probably why we are top of the league pifco. Even the guys off the bench can slot right in and do a job (if coley lets them....)

Agree with everything ..... other than selection of the penalty taker. Clicker ran himself into the ground today and is the nominated taker if Billy isn’t on the pitch.

Well, the captain, the real 28, didn't agree with you.

Also of note is we now statistically have the best defence in the league, with fewest conceded and most clean sheets.

Aaron Chapman, Jimmy Dunne and Mark Hughes have a lot to do with this!

I just hope that we can have Jimmy Dunne on loan for another season then Burnley FC can either have him in their first team as a regular or let us sign him up permanently for FREE on a TEN YEAR CONTRACT!

ps Jimmy Dunne LOVES ASFC!
