Re: Today in pictures

Crown Point was part of the area I was allocated as an enumerator in the 1970 census. I actually found a hermit living very primitively in a derelict farm building - wild country !

I already made it clear I have no personal experience. Nor do I intend to go up after dark to find out.

Re: Today in pictures

I have just had a couple of days staying with my late wife's friend near Abergele.
I was much too busy going to her daughters houses and seeing her grandchildren to take any serious photographs but managed a few quick snaps.
Her bungalow is 50 yards to the sea wall where I took a couple of the photos.

No 1.2 sea at Abergele.
No.3 Dog on sea wall.
No.4 Inland Colwyn Bay from the site of the old 70 degrees hotel.
No.5 Colwyn Bay.

Re: Today in pictures

Are you never tempted to do any gardening when you go around these parks?

Don't think Bob's big enough to carry a spade and fork etc.

I don't want to do it at home these days, so I wouldn't go out looking for it. I can remember though turning up at Oak Hill Park on my first day at work after leaving school.

Re: Today in pictures

I really enjoyed seeing photos of the Manchester Christmas Market. These were taken last weekend at a Christmas show I was invited to take part in with my pottery. The building is a stand-alone painting studio for the owner, Janet Bailey, who paints Canadian folk art. It's on a gorgeous 5 acre lot, and her house is just opposite at the other side of the 'garden'. It was a very enjoyable time with really nice people. Nothing stuffy or snobbish about it. Lots of people showed up to buy paintings, jewellery, clothes and pots, but the focus was just on giving them (and us) a lovely environment to chat and eat home made goodies. It's helping me get into the Christmas spirit, just a little.

I believe I'm going to be offered a space to work permanently in this building, but that would mean paying rent, and ramping up my business again. Not sure I want to do that! I would have to buy all new equipment as I gave most of mine away. It's a decision I can't make hastily.
