Stanley suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Bury at the Fraser Eagle Stadium this afternoon.

Although Stanley enjoyed the majority of posession in the second half, Jamie Clarke's spot kick with ten minutes to go proved only to be a consolation goal.
Next Saturday we entertain Brentford at the Fraser Eagle Stadium, kick off 3pm.

Today's match Saturday 29th Nov 2008

Bit chilly but the pitch is fine
No problems are expected ahead of this afternoon's match against Bury here at the Fraser Eagle Stadium.
The pitch covers have done their job in protecting the playing surface overnight - any volunteers to help remove them later this morning will be welcome - and the early morning fog that we experienced first thing this morning has now cleared.
The game promises to be a hotly contested Lancashire derby so wrap up warm and join us for what will undoubtedly be the biggest gate in League Two today!
LATEST UPDATE: Pitch has been passed fit.

Supporting good causes Friday 28th Nov 2008

Please help us to help local people
Two good causes will be championed at our match against Bury on Saturday afternoon and Accrington Stanley would like to encourage supporters to get involved in helping these local campaigns.
There will be a half time bucket collection in aid of local youngster Ellese Mulligan-Green. Ellese was diagnosed in June with a high grade glioma and her health has quickly declined since. However local people have rallied round to support her and raised funds in a number of ways including a fashion show last week and concert to be held at Accrington Town Hall on Saturday evening.
Also on Saturday we will be launching the Christmas Wishes appeal at Accrington Stanley, calling on businesses and residents to help support local charities this Christmas. The organisers behind Christmas Wishes are appealing for new toys, toiletries, non perishable foods and other gifts which will be handed out to charities and organisations in the run up to the festive period. The Stanley Store at the Fraser Eagle Stadium will be one of the official collection points and will be open during office hours and on match days to receive donations up until Monday 15th December. Andrea Goodall of the appeal organisers, Community and Business Partners, will be at the game tomorrow to help launch the appeal at half time on the pitch with Ricky Kirby.

Coca Cola Football League Two Friday 28th Nov 2008

Accrington Stanley v Bury
Stanley entertain Bury at the Fraser Eagle Stadium on Saturday afternoon in Coca Cola League Two action, kick off 3pm.
Robbie Williams, Peter Murphy, Peter Cavanagh and Ian Dunbavin all remain out through injury, and Terry Gornell will not be available after returning to Tranmere Rovers earlier this week. However new loan signings Craig Mahon and Gregg Blundell will be available and are both expected to feature in John Coleman's squad.
We have yet to beat Bury since our return to the Football League three years ago, in our first season back we shared the points on both meetings, and last season the Shakers completed a double over us including a 2-0 defeat at the Fraser Eagle Stadium in the last game of the season.

Blundell chooses Stanley over Paris
Darlington striker Gregg Blundell has signed on a month's loan ahead of the close of the loan transfer window at 5pm.
The 31 year old started as a trainee at Tranmere but on his release joined Vauxhall Motors and then Northwich Victoria where he scored 40 goals in two years. He moved to Doncaster in March 2003, scoring 32 goals in just over two years before signing for Chester City in the summer or 2005. He then moved to Darlington in January 2007. So far this season he has been a regular in the squad but has been restricted to appearances from the bench.
Gregg was on the way to Paris with his girlfriend after being given the weekend off by Darlington following their FA Cup exit last week, but is delighted to instead be meeting the rest of the Stanley squad tomorrow morning ahead of Saturday's home game against Bury. Gregg's girlfriend was unavailable for comment.

Thank you Wednesday 26th Nov 2008

Accrington Stanley fans credit to the club
Recently released Home Office statistics show that Accrington Stanley is one of only two clubs in the Football League and Premier League not to have a single supporter with a banning order imposed by the police. MK Dons are the only other side to achieve this.
Speaking about the figures Stanley safety officer Mick Schultz congratulated the Accrington Stanley supporters "We owe a big thank you to our fans who always come here to the Fraser Eagle Stadium and also travel away without a problem. Every time we play away from home I get reports from the safety officers at other clubs full of praise for the way in which our following support conduct themselves.
"They are loud and proud and make themselves heard, but also behave in a way which makes us a lot of friends around the country. Football fans have always attracted a lot of press attention when they do something wrong, and as a club we think it is important that our supporters are recognised for their good behaviour. It helps to reafirm our family friendly profile and reassure people that the Fraser Eagle Stadium is a safe and welcoming place to come and watch football."
A total of 3,172 banning orders are in place against football supporters in the UK, across all four professional divisions and also include some non-league sides.
