Just reading the thread about the elections asking if anyone had the prospective candidates knocking on their door brings back memories of my canvassing. I have only once been canvassing this year, have been ill this last week so havent been out much. As most of you know im a labour supporter and have been since i was at school. Anyway can remember once i was out canvassing and my sister was standing for election. By the way she was a councillor and a very good one. Id come straight from work because it was easier to get to from work than from home, and it was chucking it down, id been in work since before 8am and i didnt leave till after 6pm that night, had nothing to eat, was starving and id had hassle all night long from people who's...

Well, last night me, Ginger, kids and a couple of our friends and their kids decided to go out for a drive.

Loaded kids into cars, stopped off at McDonalds ... then we headed for Blackpool. It was latish when we arrived in Blackpool, so we had a peek round the arcades, then we went for warm doughnuts ..... Yummy yummy we all walked back to the car eating lovely warm doughnuts. Then the kids wanted to go and see " the biscuit boat " .... so we drove a little down the prom, then pulled up. We walked down to the end, to see the sunken Biscuit boat. It was obviously dark, so we promised we would bring them back when it was day light so they can have a look at it properly.

Being a teenager is hard, being a teenager with pressure of GCSEs is harder.Go out or revise, Play on the Xbox 360 or revise.Everything seems to be either this or the other. Rumor has it that GCSE for General Certificate For Sitting Exams. All i know is i dont revise enough.

Other things i did this weekend, Saturday went to Manchester with my Dad, to The Body Worlds exibition. Very intresting but gruesome in parts with fetuses of babys. Afterwards we went to The Abbey in Accrington to watch the football.

Sunday the sabbath day, i slept in till 12 then played on my Xbox, before reading my English Lit book at last some revision. Got bored after tea so decided to go for a run seeing as i want to do The Great Hameldon...

The following morning we packed up our gear and prepared to move on. We were catching the Overlander when it stopped at National Park in the early afternoon and getting off at Hamilton.

We said goodbye to Grant and dragged our luggage to the Station where we had an early lunch while waiting for the train. We eventually took our seats and settled down for the journey. The train had the same crew working that brought us up from Wellington and the buffet car ladies remembered us, so had a little chat..

The good thing about the Overlander is that the ladies do a commentary throughout the journey. They tell you where you are and a bit of local information. They also tell you which side of the train to look out of for...
