Trip To London!

What a fantastic time we had!
Bernie and I arrived at just after dinner on Thursday, sat in Embankment Park enjoying a picnic, while taking pictures of just about everything, including huge stone elephants
Walking down the Thames towards the hotel we were very lucky to be able to watch a bloke fit his entire body though a tennis racket!
We eventually managed to drag ourselves away from all the wierd and wonderful acts that were going on.
Arrived at the hotel to check in and what a lovely hotel it was, County Hall.
Lovely room, staff very friendly and the view of the London Eye was just amazing!
As tempted as we were just to sleep when we got up to the room, we decided to go for another walk. This time without the suitcases lol
Walking back along the Thames I managed to convince Bernie to go on the Carousel, after us trying to decide if it was only for kids or if adults could jump on too
We were the only 2 on it and boy did everyone know! lol
A bit further along we saw a couple of lads doing some great tricks on BMX bikes, which was really good to watch.
Eventually we started to wander up towards Trafalgar Square, getting a closer view of Big Ben and Houses Of Parliament, where just round the corner we saw armed policemen
. Very picture worthy, even if only for Rhys to go Wow!
On our way back to the hotel, busy taking photos of a Porsche with a roof-rack (like you do!
) we met Pete Waterman! We couldn't remember his name but knew he was someone famous so asked for his photograph anyway. As we walked away from him, we remembered his name!
Thursday evening was a meal and drinks courteous of NIACE
, the organiser's of the Award's Ceremony. This was a great opportunity to meet the others who were in the same hotel. Having been in Stockport on Wednesday night for the Regional Awards, I had already met a few of them so seeing them all again was great! Some classic characters
Bernie and I had booked onto the London Eye at 8pm, being half cut by this time we thoroughly enjoyed the 4D experience that was before we went on the Eye. We looked sooo dam good in those HUGE glasses!! Being on the London Eye was good too of course, the views from up there are great! Straight back to the bar after we got off it tho hehe
After a very late ngiht due to some of the others coming back to our room, we had to be up, have eaten and be dressed ready for the Award's by 8-30am!
NIACE who had organised and paid for everything treat us all fantastically well!
All in all we had a great time, until we had to come home....
I will put some pictures on here but there are lots and lots of the Award's Ceremony on the FaceBook Group I made, which you can find here if you wanna look.
