Oh joy

Posted 13-03-2008 at 14:28 by lindsay ormerod

Well , I am back from the fracture clinic, it took hours, thanks to my mum for coming along and to Steph for the lift and patiently waiting !
They sawed off my old plaster, x-rayed my hand and wrist again, poked at it and brought tears to my eyes and then decided to put another plaster on, this time for 3 weeks. Another sick note and next appointment in April ! Nothing is broken apparently but I have damaged the ligaments attaching thumb to hand, I was amazed at the bruises when the plaster came off,my knuckles are all black and swollen and the palm of my hand was bruised too, the bit that really hurts is bruised but didn't look as bad as it felt !
Just as I feared, it's gonna be a long job, my name will be mud at work, or...

Eric the sheep/cat

Posted 21-03-2008 at 21:12 by moon

I would just like to thank Glasgow guy for sending us the precious gift of a sheep in cats clothing that thinks its a dog, formally named Eric!!!! Although Eric has tendencies to steal food when your not looking, shed his fur like there is no tommorow and generally get under the feet, he is a great pet and is very good at scaring away company by doing his "mad eye" impression. He is also a very good feet warmer and can double as a pillow in times of need. So thankyou Glasgow guy for overall what appears to be a good cat/sheep!!!!!

Trip to preston ...

Posted 07-05-2009 at 22:50 by shillelagh

Is it any wonder why everyone hates having to visit the hospital for an outpatients appointment?

Spug said cant wait to read the blog on this one .. and i said maybe it should go in general chat .... i'll let you decide.

Leaves home about 11.30am - appointment at 1.30 .. so means catching the train at 12.06 from accy to preston, walk through centre of preston to the bus station and catch the bus up to the hospital. Ive gone in a taxi from the station .. costs around 8 .. to the hospital from the train station .. makes sense catch the bus. Mind you having the free bus pass does help.

So gets on the train .. having bought my ticket at the ticket office. If the ticket office is open you have to...

Autumnal reflections

Posted 09-10-2010 at 22:18 by DaveinGermany (A Donkeys deliberations)

Well ! October already & if the last couple of days are anything to go by I do believe we'll be in for an Indian Summer (or as the PC Gestapo would have it, native American Summer ?) Whatever, I shall not, in any way shape or form let PC bother me in my musings. Yes a balmy 16 - 17 C out & about today, practically shorts & flip-flops weather. Despite the pleasantness of the temperatures though the Autumn is sneaking in with its little hints & reminders, the subtle shades & hues of the foliage, the small & furry are scrabbling round for nuts & seeds & on a few evenings I've heard the sounds of Geese on the wing, their raucous calls reassuring & guiding each other in their nocturnal flight to warmer climes....

Happy Halloween.

Posted 29-10-2010 at 21:57 by DaveinGermany (A Donkeys deliberations)

Aye well .... it's that time of year again, the Monsters (read charming kidlets) are rampaging, hundreds of little apprentice extortionists dressed up as Witches, Vampires, Weird wolves, Goblins, Ghosts & a multitude of things from the crypt that on any other day would receive a swift toe to the posterior are actively encouraged to go out scrounging & threatening dire reprisals on any who don't accede to their demands, it's like a mafia protection racket without the suits & Pasta. These mini Bin Ladens are usually in possession of the biggest buckets you're likely to see outside of a building site & they're 8, I suppose hope springs eternal, they obviously haven't heard there's a recession on.

Anyway with the...
