Is it really going to be a 'happy new year'?

Well, as you may have guessed, I am a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to 'New year'.

Basically, it probably isn't going to be a happy new year, and next year the majority of the country will celebrate another new year and groan about how rubbish the last one was. It happens every year. Why dont we just accept that it probably ISNT going to be a happy new year and instead of getting drunk, and hugging complete strangers after a screechy Auld Lang Syne, just stay in, watch the telly and just accept that its going to be pretty much the same as last year - dreary, wet and windy, with the occasional bright spell.

And you can save the money that you would've spent on an overpriced taxi ride home and drinks to enjoy the january sales that little bit more!

Or if you're really nice, make it a better year for someone somewhere else and donate it to your favourite charity. Then maybe it WILL be a happier new year for someone.
