Summer fun

Updated 18-07-2008 at 18:57 by blazey (the group added more to their presentation on the final day before we performed it for everyone!)
This week I have been working as a student ambassador on the day shift. I have been on the creative writing course which has had its ups and downs.

My group has a mixture of shy, loud, cheeky, extremely bright (year 10's already doing AS levels) and what I guess can only be referred to as 'normal' level children, so preparing for their GCSE's as they all should be at that age.

Yesterday we won the 'tower challenge' (building towers out of newspaper and sellotape) for the best design! Our tower had a star shaped base because we are all special unique stars! Our prize was a box of celebrations to share!

Today we put together a poem about our time on the course for our 5 minute presentation tomorrow. My...

A whirlwind of events!

It has been an exciting past few weeks of preparation for me and now everything has come into play.

Yesterday I got my exam results and overall I got a 2.1 for the year, so I'm very happy indeed.

I'm working on some summer schools at the uni as some of you may know, and last night was my first night with my girls. I went into my room to let them all get ready for bed and say good night to eachother, and I expected them to be busy chatting to eachother by the time I got back but to my surprise all of them had got themselves into bed and were quiet straight away, I was really pleased that they followed my rules! I was even happier that they were asking loads of questions about finance and courses too, it's nice to...

Oh dear...

Posted 25-05-2008 at 21:56 by blazey
Well, I have 10 days to go til the first of my exams and I feel sick. Revision is ridiculously hard, and I'm not really getting very far with it at all. I am quite concerned that I am not going to know the material well enough to successfully complete an exam...

My first exam is 3hr 10 minutes long too, how horrible is that... I am considering how realistic it would be to throw myself under a bus right now just so I have a good reason to not sit exams, but I don't really think that would be an appropriate way of avoiding exams.

I got very drunk last night on a nicer note. We had a college party up at the Ashton Memorial and it was very posh, with wine and cheese & biscuits. We watched the sunset from the top balconies...

Back to uni

Posted 18-04-2008 at 07:40 by blazey
As some people know, I came back to uni yesterday. I really struggled finding the motivation to actually leave the house, as I felt really ill and had a lot of things to carry. Eventually I decided I was too weak to carry all my text books home so I had to leave my EU law ones behind. Thankfully I have finished my essay for that so I shouldn't be needing them for a few weeks anyway.

It's now the term of coursework and exams! I have done one piece of coursework over the holidays, I have another one due in on the 5th May, and I have a timed assessment on friday. For those who think this is just an exam, it isn't. You are given the problem question in advanced, you study beforehand and then you have an hour in 'sort of' exam conditions...

The Doctors Surgery

Posted 13-02-2008 at 12:08 by blazey
Well today I had a lovely two hour long trip to the doctors surgery, where love and romance blossomed. OK not for me, but in every doctors surgery young love awaits.

Young mums try to tame their younglings but nothing can control the young male when he begins his mating dance (in this case jumping up and down and flapping arms around). The young girl is wooed and they begin running up and down bringing leaflets for the over 65's to their mothers, who look strangely unamused. Yet they are charmed by the two little ones none the less.

Even the obese wheezing man is charmed by the little girl who stands and points at him in wonder. He smiles and sticks his tongue out at her.

But wait, not all the room is...
