Okay so I happen to drive a Boeing 737-800 for a living. Well I say living, I am still looking for that first Job. As such stuck in Casablanca, Morocco until the end of the year buildind hours on type. This should enable me to get work. I have a Fiancee and Two cats, one three legged back in Blighty (Dill Hall, to be exact) and miss her and them very much.

Got a phone call last night at 20.00, from dispatch asking if I could go to Conakry, Guniea as they needed a pilot. The flight was to depart at 23.00 and return this morning at 07.00. We set off on the flight, with a full load of pax, 191 souls on board, and settled in for the night. Captain Sadouk, we call him Sadouko, I am sure you can guess why, was acting as Pilot Monitoring while I was Pilot Flying. Somewhere over the Sahara, we lost contact with Dakar Radio, on HF, and tried to contact Stockholm Radio, who keep a listen out world wide, on HF, instead. Our aircraft are all fitted with a inflight satellite broadcast system called ARCARS, this suddenly chirped into life and we has a message printed off from base. At the same time, Stockholm...

Just wanted to say that really. Its been over two months, well 9 weeks and 3 days, but who's counting. Miss my girl, our home and cats. I will be back in dear old blighty for just over a week and then back to the millstone. The really annoying thing is, last week I was in England, well Heathrow, we flew in satyed for an hour or so and left. I had time to have a chat with the dispatcher and get a copy of the Times, but did not have chance to pop into the terminal to get any mags. So, thanks to BA stoping a nice direct flight from London to Casablanca, I have to get the train to Marrakesh (60's Style) tonight and will be at the airport there about 1am, my flight leaves at 7.30 in the morning get to gatwick for lunch then get the BA shuttle back...

After having a few days off, I was meant to be flying Casablanca to Paris Orly today and back. The flight was scheduled for 08.10 Local (09.10 UK time). We have to be at the pick up point at least 1 hour 40 mins before and I try to get there 2 hours before, to get an earlier bus do I can get the paperwork for the flight squared away. So I awoke at 05.15 Local, got showered, dressed in my really cheesy Royal Air Maroc Nylon/Polyester uniform (sticks like no other, thank goodness I have my own shirts, Van Heusen Aviatior Pilot shorts 80% cotton) pop my M&S shoes on (the ones they give us are awful) and have my cornflakes for breakfast. Just got into one of the great taxi's thay have here, today a knackered old Peugeot 205 tell the driver...

First a bit of background. I am a Airline Pilot and have been flying for nearly 5 years, I was type rated on the Boeing 737 two years ago and currently have just over 100 hours on type, struggleing to find a job.
So I came to Casablanca, Morocco with 10 other like minded souls, to build some hours on type, I have paid for 500 hours of actual airline operational flying.
We arrived at the begining of January and started our flying last week, having gone through various groundschool and simulator tests. One of the guys out here had a cold a week or two ago and nobody thought anything about it, however on monday I got a sore throat, I brought some medication over with me, sore throat pastles, painkillers etc and proceeded to take...
