flu.......... and pool

I've been rough. Started last tuesday sneezed a bit ..... but just thought it was a cold coming back after i'd been out friday night and also going out on monday night in and out of the pub for a ciggie ... Anyway wednesday took a pack of tissues in with me to work - and i'd used them all by 2pm!!! Sneezing awful. Goes to sisters after work - it was her hubbys birthday on wednesday - and i took his card and pressie round. He was off work ill - cellulitis - and i just hope i didnt give him this!! Leaves that sisters - and goes round to the other sisters - she said she'd make my tea - and sweet talked my nephew into making me a brew. The crazy dog was there but he was limping he'd bashed his leg jumping off the window and sis had took him to the vets and given him some stuff to take and rub on ....... Didnt stop him running window to window when the fireworks started or shut his bark shut!!!

Anyway sis came home from work and she said you look rough. I thought id be ok once i got home a hot toddy down me, bed and a couple of days i'll stop sneezing - thinking it was a cold. She brought me home - i made a hot toddy - it made me sick!!! I had 2 mouthfuls out of it and i felt so rough, i gave up. Went to bed. Got a couple of hours kip - woke up and the hallucinations started!!!! Oh my there were some crackers in it. All night - then finally fell asleep about 6am again. When i woke up it was about dinnertime i felt even worse - so rang the docs and asked for a home visit - receptionist i'll get one of the docs to ring you back. Doc rang me back half an hour later - she said you've got a highly infectious virus - stay in bed for 48 hrs, shower, drink plenty of fluids, take paracetomol - dont have paracetomol - i have ibuprofen - she said take 3 of them a day, am i eating - i said no i feel sick - explained about the hot toddy - she said jen you shouldnt be having those unless its minus the whisky with your epilepsy tablets i said i know but i dilute it well i dont put that much in and i make it in a mug ... well if you dont feel like eating i said its making me feel sick and start retching just drinking lemon and honey water. Well dont eat then be careful when you do start eating. Only light stuff - if you dont start feeling better in 72 hrs give me a ring.

So spent all day in bed thursday - had a shower - and slept on and off all day. My nose bunged up so bad i couldnt even smell the olbas oil on my pillow - my eyes could - they were stinging from the fumes but no smell. Sent text messages to everyone to stay away - i didnt want to give anyone this!!!!

Friday - i had hallucinations in the night again - but when i had got up had another shower i felt a lot better - so i got dressed and changed my bed and put the washer on - i walked to the garage and got my voucher to top up my fone also fresh orange juice and couple of sports drinks (the glucose in em i still werent eating - still felt sick at times), came home ... too much collapsed back into bed and that was that.

Saturday - bro sent me a text do i want any shopping - so sent him a text with wot i wanted - came back with a that and lot more than what i wanted - fruit and soups which i didnt ask for - i already had a few tins of soup in the cupboard - and didnt want to upset the stomach with fruit even though i know its good for me. Anyway thanked him. He left - dont want him to catch this. And finally got up at teatime - and i had my first food since wednesday - a bowl of soup - felt so good to be able to eat and i was starving as well. Plus i got to see what was going on online and the x factor.

Sunday - was in tears. Had pains right at the back of my eyes every time i blinked, moved them from side to side, no matter what plus one hell of a headache. rang the out of hours doc - they told me to go to a & e. Then the ibuprofen kicked in and the pain went away -and thats how i was surviving yesterday ..... when the headache came back try to last as long as i could make it 7 hours - and then take the ibuprofen. Sis dropped me off a paper - and i did the sudoku and attempted the crossword - then just read it. Also more tissues - i'd gone through 2 boxes and half of another ....... was on my last box and some more orange juice.

Today rang docs again - turns out sinus's are inflamed thats whats causing the pain in my eyes and behind them and above them - recommended paracetomol to piggyback the ibuprofen and menthol crystals. My god those crystals are strong!!!! I only put a little bit in a mug - added hot water not boiling and my eyes started watering!!!! Not as many next time!!!! lol

Last week at pool - i won a doubles match - which i couldnt believe. Neither could my bro when he came to pick me up!!!! Anyway this week - in fact tonight - we are playing rising bridge side - the team my brother plays for. Have had to put up with stick from em all - seeing as i played for them as well - one said to bro offer her a lift and drop her in rawtenstall at 7.55pm!!!! This is what they call friends....... And i said to bro - if i end up playing you - then theres a pan of broth on it - if i win - you get a pan of broth - if you win - you dont get it ....... turns out im not well enuff to go!!!
