Manic

Mentioned many moons ago in my blog I talked about the review of processes at work that I have been involved in... well the end is nigh and it's gone manic!!!
This Friday is big presentation day. Myself and a colleague have to do a powerpoint presentation that we have created (66 slides in all) which is a collection of all the data, results, losses to the company, wastage, duplication of work, problems and issues we have found throughout this very long winded "void process".
The presentation is done in front of the whole senior management team
and from what we have presented it's then decided whether the whole process needs to be re-designed.
So today we put the finishing touches to the presentation and then had a practice run on what we were going to say during each slide..
AHHHHHH!!! MENTAL BLOCK AND FLUFFED LINES is an understatement... oh well it can only get better, but Friday is coming up far too quickly.
So you know what I will be doing for the next couple of days!!!

Re: ManicH.R. I was involved in some major presentations....but the biggest one was about Benchmarking. I should have known the the NHS wouldn't send me and a colleague to the Dunkenhalgh for 3 days and not expect something in return......the 'something' was multiple teaching presentations to the whole of the staff of the Trust. Now, I am a fairly confident person....and I really believed in the message that we were trying to get across.......but I was 'bricking it' on the first presentation. I was given some very good advice bu a tutor who had done lots of presentations....she told me to imagine everyone in the audience naked and constipated...it was a huge feat of imagination....but it did make me fell more at ease. I did make one or two little fluffs......but remember you KNOW what you are talking about...your audience are there to find out what you are talking about. The feedback we received was excellent.....and it made the second presentation a more confident one.......I'm sure yours will be just the same......and the sense of elation afterwards will be tremendous. Preparation done.......? Then you have no worries! Go for it.
