Interview With MadonHack!

Posted 10-04-2008 at 20:52 by Jae Swift
Matt Baker (aka JaeSwift) is the first to admit that a quick follow-up to his 2004 debut ‘Breaking The Silence’ would have been the easy option. For not only did the aforementioned opus place the east Lancashire rapper firmly in the centre of the up and coming UK rap firmament, but it also brought him close to the kind of commercial success which has evaded so many of his peers and predecessors. But instead of capitalising on his newfound profile, Baker felt the need to batten down his hatches and craft a second album of which he could be truly proud.

We let JaeSwift take up the story…

The result is ‘Authors Conspiracy LP’ – a tight, focused collection that finds Baker not only celebrating his home city but also musing...

JaeSwift - Through My Eyes

Posted 14-03-2008 at 11:34 by Jae Swift
All my life up until now has been a bad venture
Back then it was fear, now fury boils at the center
Bad tempers to make up for all the pain I used to render
Used to get bullied, now the offended has turned offender
Tied up all the loose ends and mixed them in a blender
Surrendered to my conscience who has long been my attender
I've entered a new dimension, old lifes come to present
I'm fencing my emotions, pushing towards a new direction
Oppressing my affiliation with anything out the ordinate
No longer will I forefeit to a life that subordinate
I order it, from now on no more ridin in the back seat
The faster the days are the shorter the weeks are apt to be
Gotta move

JaeSwift - Living A Chess Game

Posted 14-03-2008 at 11:27 by Jae Swift
take the right or left lane?, the smallest things in life makes ya less sane

in the record its said, we’re misled and treacherous heads
cause fact is that as kids we learned to play checkers instead
I ain’t saying that its a medal or I’m on some distant level
but sometimes I can even see God playing it with the Devil
to flee from the hell and feel what I‘ve felt, here’s some advice that helps
become good at chess and odds are you’ll be good at life as well
but don’t credit me or no rhyme, for what a chess game shows why
all you have to know is the pieces and the rules they go by
but first open the board, no way you

JaeSwift - Good Die Young

Posted 14-03-2008 at 11:26 by Jae Swift
They say the good die young and I really believe-it
Because the sequence in life has all of us grieving
A young man perceived as a joy since conceiving
Occurred, now I'm kneeling looking towards the ceiling
Wondering why God felt the need to receive-him
Such a young boy with very little time for achievement
But such a relief the eve he decided-to-leave
Because I believe it was peace when he died-in-his-sleep
Why-does-it-seem God takes a short-life-away
When criminals receive even more-time-to-prey
On innocent lives, and kids are torn-away
From a chance to succeed, which is why we mourn-today
You’re in a better place now, its nice to know where your goin
An Angel
