The accyweb meets

Yesterday I was telling you briefly how accyweb came into being, I think it only fair to let you know how the meets actually got started, I found a thread about it and will post it lower down.

Sometime around September-ish 2003 Mother hen (Mez) arrived on site and it changed for ever. Being the sort of person always ready for an excuse to drink it was suggested that we have a Christmas party, this was duly arranged (By Mick) and held in the Oak Tree on Blackburn Road, Benipete was the Landlord back then and he welcomed us to his pub, his Daughter Vicky did the eats.
(The evening so traumatised the pair of them that they were reluctant to go on line and become members until earlier this year).

It was suggested that everyone that turns up should bring a prize for a raffle, as it turned out that night due to the generosity of some members we ended up with 13 prizes even though only about 9 of us turned up, ( so that I don't upset any of you that where there please add your names to the comments at the end of this blog, yes Lynx, I do remember you were there with your jammy dodgers, good old jambutty site gone but not forgotten), there would have been a few more but Roy and his workmates weren't due back from abroad until about Christmas eve.

A good time was had by all and the birth of the monthly meets had begun.

It should be noted that this thread was started back in 2006 when members had a sense of humour with regards to such terms as 'mafia' and 'clique' unfortunately they have now almost ended up on the banned list along with swearing.
