Operation Mother......

Took my mum to hospital yesterday for her Angioplasty. It was awful dropping her off there. I felt every bit as guilty leaving her as I did years ago when I took the dog to the vets to be speyed.
The operation went well but it nearly didn't. She was ages in the theatre, every time I phoned she was still in there. It turns out that they found a problem with another artery so they did that one at the same time. Evidently it was quite a difficult procedure as one of her main arteries was almost completely blocked. They have put some stents in and at £1000 a piece all I can say is that she'd better start looking after herself. I think it may have frightened her a bit, as she has been told that if they couldn't do the op she would be in for amputation.
I've brought her home this morning and she has taken herself off to bed. She's a bit bruised and sore but otherwise alright. I have to work tonight, so I have told her that if she needs anything this evening she will have to give Grego a ring.
Got a letter from University yesterday. I haven't been to pick up my assignment results. I haven't really had the time and I have to admit to being a bit of a chicken because I thought I'd failed. The letter says that I can proceed with my degree and gives me my result. I actually did very well. You could've knocked me down with a feather. After heaving a sigh of relief I realised that I have only one more module and my dissertation to do. Hopefully I will have finished by next September. It's a shame really because I'm seriously considering giving in my notice. I've had enough.......
