Had a great time at the Octagon last night. Boy!!!! The cast couldn't half belt out a song. The whole show was done superbly, complete with grassy knoll, rain and picnic blankets.

I fell asleep in the car on the way home, just for a few minutes but I hope I wasn't snoring, drooling and farting. If I was, sorry Rindy...... ;-)

I've done naff all today apart from walking the dog and a bit of food shopping. I went back to bed this afternoon but couldn't sleep due to the heat. I am working tonight so I hope I don't come over all weary in the middle of the night.

Now I am a girl of the world, and all for equality but after today I wish I wasn't. Deciding to do a bit more work in the garden, I set about some weeds with a shovel. It's bloody hot out there. I managed to get the majority of weeds up and got to work cutting back my ivy which has grown over the back wall and is annoying the drunks who frequently come up our back alley for a quick p1ss on the way to the taxi place. The worst job was yet to come. After fighting my way past worms and spiders I had to tackle my outside drain. Donning my marigolds i proceeded to remove all the garden matter which was blocking my drain......

What a horrendous job. That's why women are supposed to have men living with them, so that they can do all...

I have just booked a holiday for me and Sparky. We are going to Lefkas in Greece. I love the Greek Islands and can't wait. The people are friendly, the food is generally good and the wine highly palatable. It's always sunny and you can do as much or as little as you like.

I have a feeling that I won't be doing much. I need to sit in the sun and re-charge my batteries. Sparks doesn't sound too enamoured about a beach holiday, but the truth is he has never had one. Beach hols have never appealed to him, but then again walking holidays never appealed to me, but I went on one about 3 years ago and loved it (even though I was knackered when I got home and needed a beach hol to get over it)

Had a brilliant night at the Opera House last night watching the Rat Pack. Before going to the Opera House, we had a meal at the Choice Bar at Castlefield. This area of Manchester has become very trendy over the last few years and is a brilliant place to spend a sunny afternoon people watching. I used to go there in the summer on sunday afternoons with the girls and we would have a day out. We always had a great time.

Monday night was hellish.. Nobody got a meal break or even a brew for the whole night shift. We were all well and truly naffed off by morning. We are full all of the time and babies don't seem to come out normally anymore. Fortunately due to lack of staff our managers are doing some shifts. It was horrendous yesterday morning when I left. One of our managers took over the morning shift and they do realise how bad it is. I went in last night to speak to my manager, who was working a late shift. The situation on the ward hadn't changed. It was still heaving with no staff and my manager was at the end of her tether. The upshot is that they are going once again to see higher management because something has to give. We either need more staff or...
