Went to the Old Silent Inn last night. I'm sure that anyone who has read this journal will be familiar with our love of the Old Silent Steak. It's a fillet stuffed with stilton, wrapped in bacon and served in a port and mushroom sauce. In a word........delicious. We arrived there to find that it has been removed from the menu due to taking so long to cook, people were complaining and asking why their food was taking so long.

With being on holiday we hadn't been there for a while and I was hanging out for my steak. I ended up having the steak fillet in stilton sauce which was really good but not the same. We have asked that when we go again, if we ring up and order can we have the Old Silent steak. Luckily the reply was yes,...

Honestly, I can't take myself anywhere!!!!!

I've been to Manchester on the bus today for a shopping expedition. I did manage to find a top which I can wear for Willow's wedding. I'm hoping that it will go with a suit which I already have. I also needed new shoes for work, which I found with unusual ease.

Due to having no problem finding work shoes I reckoned it might be worth trying to find some nice sandals for the summer which I could also wear for the wedding. Needless to say it was impossible. Don't get me wrong because there's lots of nice stuff out there but I have a problem with my feet. They are permanently sore, I can't wear anything with a bar between the toes because they rub my eczema which flares up...

What a good show it was last night!!! Bits of 80's nostalgia mixed with other people's songs all done brilliantly. Tony Hadley has had lots of publicity in the last year or 2 due to winning that show where ex artistes tried to show that they still had quality. It seems to have boosted his career somewhat and he sang superbly.

Covering some familiar Spandau numbers True, Through the Barricades, Gold, he also did some rather good cover versions including Elvis's Always on my Mind. He had a jovial banter with the audience and the band, and looked like he was having a great time. Carrying slightly more weight than in the 80's he still looked pretty damn good from where I was sitting.

Well I've dragged my carcas out of bed early today. It was a quiet night at work until about 5am this morning when I'm sure that some kind soul dropped off a busload of labouring women outside Queens Park. By the time the day staff arrived chaos reigned on the delivery suite....

I was so glad to finally get into bed but I've got up early for a reason. At Christmas I was lucky enough to receive 2 tickets to see Tony Hadley and Martin Fry at Bridgewater Hall from Sparky and the show is tonight. So here I am with my face on, dressed, and good to go. We are going out for tea first, I daren't tell him that I've only just had breakfast, but luckily I have the capacity to be able to eat at any time of day or night so I should manage...

How low can a person stoop?????
I received a pm from my sister Grego this morning saying that her pet Dave is on his last legs, she has no ackers left and can't afford to feed him. I had noticed that he looked a bit peaky and had played with him a few times but to no avail.

Grego is a busy lass with a toddler and doesn't have as much free time as I do to peruse the site and make posts, so her ackers earning potential is not good. Prior to the changes on the site, she had invested her ackers wisely, as had I and had millions in the bank. Unfortunately when the changes went ahead we were de-ackered.

In an attempt to help grego save her starving and faithful friend dave I have committed unspeakable sins today....
