I am glad that the blogs are back. I really need to re-read mine and do a bit of a catch up of where I left off.
I will do a quick review of 2007 now though and may add to it later.
January... Me and Sparks spent New Year and most of January in Australia. I loved it and we had a fabulous time. What a shame to have to come home.

February... Most of Feb was spent with a great feeling of restlessness and itchy feet. Serious consideration was given to emigrating.

March.... Turned 39...Yikes!!!! Spent most of the month trying to convince myself that I only look 30.

April... Sparks moved in.

May, June & July... Mostly worked, did loads of nights and started saving for our next...

Phew!!! What a week...

Not one to be easily beaten, I made a last ditch effort with the Christmas shopping and managed to get most of it done and wrapped. I have only about 4 more pressies to buy and I'm all done. I have also got November and December's birthdays (7 in total), all done. I just have to sort out January's now, as I will be away for those and need to get sorted.

I have bought my new suitcase for the hols and have now sorted all accommodations, flights and car hires. Quite a bit of the stuff is already paid for so that will reduce the amount we have to pay when we get there. I am now concentrating on saving some spending money. I have definitely inherited my dad's ability to save up and not get into...

I feel like I am fighting several losing battles at the moment. So much for having a break from work. I have been into work this morning to give a seminar type thingy, for want of a better phrase.. I have been involved for the last couple of years in infection control for our unit and have had to teach on some study days. I feel like all I do these days is continually harp on at staff, visitors, patients and anyone else who will listen about hand hygiene, proper waste disposal and the physical, emotional and fiscal cost of health care acquired infections. The thing that I have found during audits and by just being plain nosy is that our students are no longer taught effective handwashing during theoretical study days.... If they have been,...

I have a week off work now. I say that very loosley because I actually have to go into work tomorrow to teach a seminar, but apart from that, I do have some time off.

I am ready for a break and although I am not going anywhere I have planned to make a big dint in the Christmas shopping. Full of good intentions I hopped on the Manchester bus yesterday. After hours of trailing around various shops and having no idea what anybody wanted, I came away with just 4 presents. The day wasn't a total washout though, I did buy a new blouse to wear for my graduation and I also had a nice lunch.

I need something to wear for my work's Christmas do. It is at Stanley House (posh), we have decided to push the boat out this year,...

I'm absolutely swelling with pride at the moment. Not because I have managed to grow a spot on my face bigger than I've ever had before but.... family pride.

My sister went into labour on Wednesday night and without pain relief managed to deliver my new nephew in the early hours of thursday morning. I couldn't get to work quick enough on Thursday as I knew that she would be on the ward waiting. She had phoned at midnight to let me know that things may be starting.

I got to work at 7am, half an hour early and there they were. Sis looked really well and my little nephew looked lovely (a bit squashed but still lovely). He looks a bit like his sister did when she was a baby and I have to say that he is so laid back....
