Extravagance....keeps me awake!

I was kept awake last night by my extravagant purchase......I kept on thinking of what the money would have been better spent on.......it would have almost paid for the loft to be insulated...keeping us warm this winter. The loft is already insulated, but we have considered increasing the insulation to keep the heat in the house and reduce those winter heating bills.
I keep on thinking, that now we have spent the money on this frippery....and the heating bills are going to go through the roof, literally........a diamond ring won't keep us warm.
But in the end sleep overtook me and this morning I told myself that I AM worth it, that I deserve something beautiful in my life.......and that if the winter is really cold and we fear big heating bills.......I will put on an extra layer of clothes and look at my shiny birthday gift......and Sod it!
(It might not have been the extravagance that kept me awake...it could have been indigestion...but the thoughts were there.)

i know exactly how you feel, its not often i spend money on myself, its either spent on Reece or bills, i dont know why i bother really, i usually pay my bills way before they are even due, my phone bill for instance isnt due until August but i will start paying it next week, my water bill isnt due till the 1st of the month but that will be paid next week too, if i have a bit of money left in my purse at the end of the week i will always be thinking 'what can i pay with this' one time i was so infront with my tv license which i pay fortnightly that i got a letter from the tv licensing people telling me not to pay it for two months because i was so infront, if i do spend money on myself i start thinking infront to what i could have been paying instead, my dads always telling me to chill out and spend something on myself for a change, but i just cant lol
