A phonecall.

Ma has been feeling proper hacked off lately.......it's that itchy feet thing again.......we could have gone to Eastbourne last Monday, but she was holding out for the Isle of Wight - goodness at this rate they are going to consider us residents and supply us with voting cards soon!

The recent wet weather has got her down - that combined with her dislike of cooking for herself(glad she can't read this...she'd have my guts for garters).
All this last week she has been looking at the brochures and the pictures I do for her.
Remembering past holidays...and of course planning new ones.
She rang Robinsons to find out if they had any Mystery tours going in the next couple of weeks.....then found out that that was no good as her dog sitter goes on holiday in a couple of weeks time.
She couldn't bear to think it might be 3 weeks or a month before she could get away again....then i told her that I had promised to look after a friends cats for two weeks in August....that really put her in a downward spiral......and she re-doubled her efforts to find something NOW.
She enlisted the help of Debbie(sister-in- law) she was looking online and couldn't come up with anything much......there were seats on the coaches, but no hotel rooms(the company in question, having sold the rooms back to the hotel).
At a little after six pm, I got a phonecall from Ma to say that we are off to Torquay on Monday...and to blow the dust off my suitcase(what dust?).
I told her that I will pack her some ear plugs in case I am still doing the barking impressions.

And just as an aside this is my 500th blog episode.......do I get a prize???????
