A girly day out.

We(my daughter, Miss Bossy drawers and me) saw the lad off to school this morning and then gleefully, we skipped off to Preston on the bus. Miss Bossy drawers has had a yen for going on a bus....never having been on one before.

She was taunting her brother last night with the strains of 'We're going on a bus and YOU aren't'....and kept on repeating this refrain....much to her brothers annoyance.
He was dischuffed to think that we could contemplate going on a day out, and leaving him behind.
This morning though, he was more interested in going to school......and went in the rain....fleet of foot.

We waited for the 9.50 bus...having missed the earlier one. I thought it would be full, but it wasn't.
We sat at the back......the bus was quite smelly......that sour wet brolly smell....not a bit pleasant.....but Miss Bossy Drawers loved it.
We arrived in Preston a little before 11am....we thought that we might just get a look around the flea market.....and visit the church of Primark.....and I wanted to have a squizz in M&S........then if there was time we might grab a bite to eat.
We calculated that to be sure to be back for 'chucking out time' at scholl we would have to get the 1.28 bus back.....hmmmmm, we had a very tight schedule if we were going to do all the things we had planned.
It was pouring with rain all the morning and we got very wet walking to Primark.
Miss bossy drawers was in her element perusing the girly sparkly tops......the embellished jeans....the bags, the fake bling.......I can see we are going to have a diva on our hands......she is only just three and interested in clothes......and likes to match up her garments.
Her Mum was showing her some of the things she planned to buy.......some met with approval, others got the 'no way' comment.
Once done, we headed on to look at a few other shops before heading back to M&S.

Rock Fm were broadcasting from the Preston store....and there were prizes to be won.....only thing was you had to find the gold stars. I couldn't see a thing my glasses were misted up.
There were samples of chocolates , turkish delight, chocolate liquers and expensive cookies and chocolate biscuits on offer.
Miss Bossy drawers made straight for the display of chocolates......before you could say 'Cadbury's' she had one chocolate in her hand and one in her mouth....then she moved on to the biscuits......and chose a white chocolate biscuit and a choccy chunk cookie.
She would have headed off for more but we shepherded her out of the store.....not pausing for a taste of sparkling wine in case she wanted a snifter of that too.
On checking the time it was quarter past twelve so we thought we would head back in the general direction of the bus station.
We did have a cursory look at the flea market, but once Miss Bossy drawers realised we were going back for the bus she wanted ot be off.

We got the earlier bus back home....and I was quite glad as our plan to have a bite to eat fell by the wayside.
On the bus back Miss Bossy drawers was quite giddy.......I kept on telling her that she was a 'Cheeky Squeaky Beak' and this made her giggle uncontrollably.....it was the kind of giggle that you used to be able to buy in those giggle bags.....I just hope that we didn't disturb the other passengers too much with our giddy ways.
When we got back I headed off home.......
I just had time for a quick snack and a cuppa before it was time to go and pick up the New Boy.......by which time the rain had stopped and there were blue skies.....not before time!
We girlies really enjoyed our trip out, we just wished it could have been a bit longer
