Losing weight is an up-hill struggle

Posted 28-09-2008 at 10:34 by Margaret Pilkington
The problem with weight loss is that as soon as you tell someone you have lost some weight, you go and put two pounds on.
Not exactly good, is it?
So another couple of weeks down the line I have still only lost the 11 pounds.......I am not really on a diet.....well, no that can't be true, because I am trying hard to eat less and walk more.
What I really mean is, that I am not on any
'planned diet'.......I'm eating my normal meals......though I have had more in the way of salads recently......I am also trying to curb my sweet tooth.
(I have a dentists appointment in about a month....I am going to ask him to see if he can take my sweet tooth out)
When I want chocolate....I have an apple......and sometimes it works and my craving for the sweet stuff subsides....sometimes it doesn't....then i make myself wait for half an hour and if the craving is still there......I have a little bit of what I fancy.
I am also walking to School and Nursery twice each weekday and trying to do a circuit of Mercer Park four times a week.......so it really isn't fair that I'm stuck.

I am wanting to lose the weight from my middle....and before anyone tells me that it is impossible to get rid of......I know.
So far my fingers have got thinner and my feet too....not exactly the places that weight loss is noticeable.
This time of year is also against me losing weight, as the nights draw in, I can feel the carb hunger approaching.
Losing weight is an up-hill struggle.......I might just chuck in the towel and accept that middle age spread is a fact of life!

Don't know why your bothered Marg. You eat good healthy food and allow yourself the odd treat. You are getting plenty of excercise, so why let a few pounds bother you? Life is for living

You are right Bernie, but I am trying to avoid becoming Diabetic like my Ma....apparently because she is diabetic i have an increased risk of becoming one as well.....especially as the blubber accumulates around my middle...so it is a health thing really....though getting into a size smaller clothes would be a bonus
