I've definitely been poorly....

Posted 10-12-2004 at 15:47 by Margaret Pilkington
Oh what a rough couple of days I have had. High temperature, headache, aching bones (in places that I didn't know there were bones) and cough.....let me tell you I have achieved the Olympic standard in coughing.....world record.....beat all comers!
I know I have been poorly but trying to convince the other half has taken some doing.....this morning though I woke up with evidence.....a nose like a blind cobblers thumb....full of coldsores....inside and out.
So, if you see a woman in Accrington this weekend with a brown paper bag on her head, loaded down with Christmas presents.....it will be me...cos even though I am still feeling rough as rope someone needs to do the Christmas shopping......and I guess that will be me.......aaaaaah....

The bug that Buggerlugs had.

Posted 08-12-2004 at 18:38 by Margaret Pilkington
My other bit of news ...if you can call it that, is......I have caught the bug that Buggerlugs had......so I must not have given him what he had in the first place......if that makes any sense. If I had given him the bad cold that lead to his chest infection then I would not have got it back again because I would have built up an immunity to that particular bug.
Yesterday we had the ankle-biter and I felt so weary and dizzy that I couldn't wait for the little blighter to go home so that I could go to bed.
I don't remember hubby ministering to me with paracetamol, hot lemon or any of the things I gave to him when he was as rough as rope.

I have had steam inhalations, Covonia cough mixture (which I quite like) and...

Imagine if Chewy had died!!!!!

Posted 08-12-2004 at 18:27 by Margaret Pilkington
Can you imagine the stick I would have got from Janet if poor little chewy had died.......she said a dog is for life not just for Christmas.....and he wouldn't even have lasted until Christmas.
There should be some way of making provision for your pet if for some reason you cannot get online.......you should be able to book the pet into Kennels.....at the appropriate cost of course.....that would be a nice venture for someone to take on.

Failed..... but not my fault!

Posted 08-12-2004 at 18:18 by Margaret Pilkington
It had been my intention when I started this blog to put a little bit of something each day. I have failed, but I have to add that it is not my fault.......How was I to know that we were to have a server change????? here I've been sitting, frustrated as hell, thinking that I am doing something wrong because I can't access the site.....logged onto the net, logged off and tried again...... then today had a mini brain wave.......try GOOGLE......good old GOOGLE..... my mate GOOGLE and got back in......glad I did too....poor old Chewy thought his days were numbered......he was as hungry as H*ll and so pleased to see me.
I was pleased to see that some of the members had given him a bit of company......I think he thought he was going the way...

The Pantomime...

Posted 04-12-2004 at 18:25 by Margaret Pilkington
I went to the Pantomime at the Civic theatre In Oswaldtwistle last night.....I would not have gone at all if it had not been for my mother reminding me about it......thought the tickets were for tonight.
That would have been good, me turning up tonight and people being in my seats...would have looked a right crate egg!

I am still no nearer with the Christmas shopping......was going to go out today and do a bit, but we had the rugrat again.....his Mum and Dad wanted to go out and get some of their shopping done and the lad was a bit off colour yesterday so they wanted to leave him with us....he is still off his grub and would only have a yoghurt and a drink.....I would have to be ill to eat that stuff......YUK..... but...
