Ma has been feeling proper hacked off lately.......it's that itchy feet thing again.......we could have gone to Eastbourne last Monday, but she was holding out for the Isle of Wight - goodness at this rate they are going to consider us residents and supply us with voting cards soon!

The recent wet weather has got her down - that combined with her dislike of cooking for herself(glad she can't read this...she'd have my guts for garters).
All this last week she has been looking at the brochures and the pictures I do for her.
Remembering past holidays...and of course planning new ones.
She rang Robinsons to find out if they had any Mystery tours going in the next couple of weeks.....then found out that that was...

There is a small piece of land near where we live.
It has been empty for many years.....it must be in excess of ten years.
A couple of years ago we were told it had been sold and someone was going to build a care home on it.......the local residents were not very pleased and objected to the development...not that it made any difference.....the plans went through(though they had to be altered somewhat).........nothing seemed to be happening, then we heard that these developers had dropped out...after they had chopped all the mature trees down(travesty).
The land was back on the market again earlier this year at a hefty price.
A few weeks later we had heard it had been sold, and that 9 houses were going to be built on...

this time of year can sometimes be a bit of a trial......I have hayfever....no it isn't a serious or life threatening complaint, as I think I have observed before.
I get a bit congested, my eyes burn and water......really with amount of watering, it should put the fire out, but it never does......
and last week my sinuses became inflamed....they were creaking and bubbling every time I moved and if I had to bend down I felt like I had a 14lb weight attached to my nose.
I didn't really get a runny nose, but my throat was very sore.
Anyway the Hayfever has affected my chest.......at the beginning of the week I was barking like a dog...and the effort was making my ribs sore......now the cough has become productive, so the...

Yes, this was one of the beatles songs of my era...as was 'When I'm Sixty Four'.....OK....I haven't made sixty four yet (though some days I do feel like I have)......and I have got my ticket to ride.....Bus pass that is.
Hubby has had his for quite a while.....he got his as a result of having had a stroke and being classed as disabled...though he is very well...thank you very much.
He didn't ever use his bus pass....it just languished in his wallet in pristine condition.
Then last year I got my bus pass.
I took several solo jaunts on the buses and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would ask hubby to come along with me.....no parking to think about, no driving...... a pleasant day out and lunch too.

Yesterday was a 'full on' day...neither hubby or I seemed to have time to draw breath.....well no, not strictly true we did have an hour nattering with my friend M...the one who has not been so well lately.

Hubby was up just after 6am...me, I have done all that early rising to death......I don't get up until just before 8am....usually just as hubby is going over to Daughters to pick up the tinlids and take them to pre-school.

I got up and put my breakfast on.....one slice of wholemeal toast and a mug of tea.......while I was waiting for the toaster to pop, and the kettle to boil...... I scouted round the house for washing...filled the washer and put it on.
I then sat and had my brekkie...and a read of the paper....
