Hibernation

Posted 16-11-2008 at 16:26 by MargaretR
Hibernation - I need to - don't choose to - here's why.
Fatigue - everybody gets it when you over do things beyond your body's capacity. 'Chronic' is a word added to denote that it has lasted a long time and you get no let up from it, so it is always present.

I 'crashed' into this state in July, but I can now see that there had been a slow deterioration over many years to reach that low point.

I was not willing to accept this dramatic reduction in energy as 'old age'.

It is a state where a body's capacity to metabolise energy slows down to tickover.
It has many causes - poor nutrition, stress, toxin exposure are the main ones. These are things that everybody is exposed to - just part of living....

Chronic Fatigue CFS
....not an ideal way to live.....in fact not my idea of living at all...more like struggling at surviving.
The NHS say 'incurable' and if I hadn't found help from fellow sufferers
and ONE GP(NHS and private) in Wales, Dr Sarah Myhill, who knows how to cure it,
I might have been campaigning for euthanasia instead of food supplements

Health restored

Posted 03-09-2008 at 13:11 by MargaretR
I didn't go for the flat foot study interview after all, I was feeling too rough to make the effort, so they sent me a questionaire instead.

It is about 2 months ago now when I hit 'rock bottom'.
I was sleeping 11 hours a day - awake 2 - sleep 2. When awake I felt weary and breathless.
It had been getting gradually worse for a year. When I told the doc about my sleep problem he said 'drink lots of coffee'.

I lost faith in the medics 20 years ago when I was poisoned by prescription meds, so I knew I would have to find the answer myself - and I have.

The solution was there on the web - deficiency of vitamin B12. My symptoms fitted precicely.
If you google that you will get some NHS 'netdocor'...

Flat foot study

Posted 02-04-2008 at 11:36 by MargaretR
I have been invited to participate in a
Flat foot study
This condition is often trivialised by people who don't have it.
Remember 'excused Boots Bisley' in the TV comedy series Bootsie and Snudge.
I was born with flat feet and developed other foot problems as life progressed, which may or may not have resulted from that - I may find out when I attend the hosp survey
They are now about to assess how flat feet impact on lifestyle, and whether existing NHS treatment is any help or could be improved etc.
When you have flat feet there is no natural spring in your step, and so even walking involves more effort. If arches aren't created and supported with insoles, weightbearing causes pain.
I know it has...
