Lancaster Hospital Again

Posted 29-05-2008 at 06:40 by mick
Right if you read my last blog you will know i had to go all the way back to Lancaster Infirmary for a Treadmill test.
So Anne and me set off on the 10-29am train got to Lancaster for 11-45am
my hospital appointment was for 3pm so had plenty of time.
I was asked yesterday in a pm what i did to pass the time i told the person that as the wife was with me the only thing i could do was go looking round the shops with her
well what else could i do.
anyway they had one of them markets on like the continental one we get in accy sometime.
But this one was a lot better with all the cooking food there was Indian curry, Chinese food even a Hog roast,
All this food cooking made me hungry so i got a hog roast teacake with stuffing and apple sauce the guy carved fresh meat of a sizzling roast it was great.
Then Anne decided it was brew time as we where both ready for a brew, we found a cafe that you could sit outside and we got a brew and Anne got a ham salad butty.
Anne is a VERY VERY fussy eater but she really enjoyed the butty and they really made a very good strong cup of tea so i had 2 brews
We wandered round the market and more shops and i got another book from the cheap book shop "murders in 1920s Manchester"
It was then time to head to the hospital
we got there and as we where still 30 early got another brew and a scone.
This time both the coffee Anne had and the tea i had where terrible mine was like dish water we had to leave them.
We went to the Investigation unit by 2-50pm
and was out after having the treadmill test 16 Min's later with them telling me you can go home we will pass the results on to the consultant.
Now i have had my blood pressure taken many many times like most people but i have never had the results i got this time i now have two bruises about 4 inches long where the cuff has bruised my arm
Anyway we got back to the train station by 3-50pm the next train was the 4-03 to Manchester airport so we got that there where some very ignorant people on this train and i ended up having to stand all the way back to Preston owing to certain people putting luggage on the seats and not on the rack i menchened this to the conductor but he just ignored it so i ended standing.
At Preston we decided to look round a few shops there before getting the train back to Accy.
We got the 5-35 train From Preston and if the trip back to Accy had been much longer both Anne and me would have been fast asleep and missed the station.

the bags on seats thing has happened to me several times, i just go upto the person and ask if they have paid for their luggage to be sat on a seat, they usually just give me a gormless look and say 'what?' so i then tell them to move it so i can sit down, and jobs a good un

i would also have said something about the cuff, was it a young doctor taking your blood pressure Mick?

No Flashytart it was a old guy."technician"
and it was an auto one that took it every 3 Min's while on the treadmill it did not hurt or anything and when they took the cuff off he said oh look the cuff has caught your arm
i do tend to bruise easy with the tablets i am on so will just put it down to that.
