part 5

PART 5
Right I got yet another appointment to go in for an op YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS ONE
This time it was set for the Tuesday and I had to go in on the Monday this was better timing more buses anyway I got there on time and was put in a side ward and even fed ok I missed dinner as I had to be there for 1pm but they did find me some cold boiled fish in some sauce.
Anne waited this time till I had been seen and tagged and told there would be no problem as I was second down in the morning great said Anne now I can go home and will see you tomorrow afternoon I kissed her goodbye and settled down with a mag.
No problems I got my tea and had a quiet nights sleep.
Next morning a nurse woke me and said I have to have a chemical enema, o great I thought
So after this I was given a gown and told to have a shower which I did, then sat waiting for theatre, when the time came the porter came in and said right we are ready for you will you follow me so I followed him down in the lift to the theatre yes I had to walk there they were short of porters,
Still no pre-med anyway the anaesthetist got me ready monitor, ecg, blood pressure, oxygen mask, and gave me a pre-med injection I looked like a Borg with all these pipes, we waited halve an hour like this until the surgeon came in and said there is a problem they have no bed for me after the op in HDU where I was going for 24 hours and to wait until he sorts it out.
1 hour later he came back and said nope we will have to cancel the op they had no bed,
So I was sent back to the ward.
I was given a cup of tea and told to ring Anne to collect me,
Just as Anne came on to the ward with my clothes there was a phone call from theatre asking the sister where I was they were waiting for me,
The surgeon had forgot to cancel the op.

I got a letter 6 weeks later and much earache of Anne and the op went ok the rest of the district nurses that had not seen my rear end the first time round now got a second chance as they were totally different nurse that came the second time thankfully for me Anne had taken a lot of qualifications and was able to do the dressing herself you cant be embarrassed going into hospital I can tell you.
So now you are upto date with my case hope you enjoyed reading it there will be more to come when I get my next date and finally go for the bypass op.

Thanyou all for reading this ramble
