I got a good, unbroken, 6 hours sleep on Friday night. All was quiet, not a peep. Unfortunately Laura has an internal alarm clock that goes off at about 6.15 every morning. She'll pop into the bathroom, go to the loo, and slip back into bed for another hour. Saturday morning was no exception and Laura woke and crept out of the room, where her 4 friends were sound asleep. Sadly, they were not all quite as sound asleep as they might have been. The sound of the door softly opening and the duvet being pulled back was enough and within 5 minutes the air was filled with the chatter of young female voices.

I've got a cold and its not shifting ... Spugs gone back up the road so i havent got my nurse either i just hope i havent given it him before he went back. I started sneezing on monday, tuesday the consultant was telling me that if i catch an infection i could have a fit and im sneezing away in his office!!!

Thursday night the coughing started ... so friday went out looking for barnips and lemons. I had to go up hassy to go and pick a prescription up because the consultant had upped the tablets and not gave me any extra and i was coming to the end of my prescription. So goes up hassy and went to what was espleys they used to sell barnips - no go - they said the firm that makes them the machine they use to wrap them keeps...

It's Laura's birthday, she's 9. When ideas for a party came up she said please could she have a few friends for a sleep-over. She's been to a couple. We eventually agreed.

Six were invited but one couldn't come as she's gone into hospital today to have her tonsils out and one couldn't come as she's allergic to our cat. She came for tea a couple of months ago and ended up with a rash and a slight asthma attack. That left four of them plus Laura.

Savannah arrived first. She's a nice, quiet child but she's a little "old for her years" - very body-image conscious (how sad at 8 years old) and only wears "trendy" clothes. Vicky came next, she's one of Nik's Brownies, along with Laura and Savannah, and...

Saturday for him coming down made him a pan of broth - i promised him - ran round town and got the makings for it - made the dumplings from scratch, and it was good, it was ready for him when he got here. We finished it off Sunday well in fact he finished it off on sunday night after coming back from the victoria. I told him he was washing the pan ..... i hate washing the broth pan - and he promised he would wash the broth pan. Ok today was the day i had to go to the hospital. Warning for anyone going on the train - its the winter timetable!!! So was late and had to catch the late train and a taxi up to the hospital otherwise we would have been late. The railcard arrived this morning as well - cant believe that!!! For a change first class meant first class - and arrived the morning after being sent the night before!!!

Well to the hospital to see the consultant and he wasnt there he was on holiday i saw someone else and instead of being in and out in 5 mins we were in there for 15/20 minutes. Didnt quite catch his name he spoke too fast .... he wanted to know more about what was going on, how many i was having, he even said asked if it was ok to talk...
