Birds in the garden ...

Posted 19-07-2010 at 15:20 by shillelagh

6 months ago when we had all that lovely snow i took pity on the birds and bought some of them nets with bird nuts and bird seed in.

I used to feed em years ago .. it used to keep mum entertained but when i saw a rat eating the bird seed that landed on the floor i stopped very quickly. Mum told me off but i said we dont want rats around and she agreed.

Anyway with the bad weather there was something on telly saying birds were having a bad time .. and i took pity on them .. and got the nets from down accy and stuck em on the washing line poles. I put one up of seeds and one of nuts and left them to it. The nuts seemed to disappear like nobodies business and had to keep replacing them. But the seeds one were never touched. I swapped em over and still the nuts were took .. the seeds never touched.

Anyway when it came to april and they say dont feed the birds because they will have enough i didnt put any more nuts out .. but left the seed one out. Today i saw a couple of sparrows flying past my window and back door .. and they were eating the seeds!!

So i got some pics ...
