After gorging on the easter eggs on the sunday .. well what was left of em after being in the car .. we'd always go out on easter sunday .. normally to blackpool seeing as the pleasure beach would be open .... we had easter monday ..
Well ... it would be the fellas in the family would always go to football match .. most of the time it was at blackburn .. and leave my mum wi the kids at the pot fair and fair in blackburn .. with arrangements to meet up after the footie match .. and for the fellas among you more often than not it was rovers v burnley ....
Mum would always buy new pint pots for her and dads cup of tea ... she said it tasted better out of them ... it was always a big thick one .. weighed a ton when you'd brewed up and had to carry it in .... if she needed new plates she'd get eye them up .. say she'd think about it to the stall holder .. and then walk off ... dragging us all behind her. Then we'd go off to the fair .. having a go on all the rides ... winning the goldfish .. you always won at least one goldfish ... either wi the darts hitting three aces or chucking a table tennis ball into a gold fish bowl or whatever ... Mum would be cursing me ... cos i always came back with 2 ... and she'd have to drag out the goldfish bowl that was in the cupboard after the last lot had finished ... Then you'd get the cuddly toys .. pink teddys, yellow furry ducks etc though they always seem to disappear a couple of months after you'd won them ...

Then we'd end up meeting up with the fellas ... my dad, my brother in law, my brother and my sisters boyfriend .. one half would be cursing the other half celebrating ... half were rovers fans .. t'other half were burnley fans ... then mum would drag us all back to the pot fair .. and to the stall what she'd decided she wanted .. and got my dad and them all to pay for it and carry it back to the car. Once my dad bought me a mug as well .. Buy blitish and a variety of other jokes on it ... ive still got it now ... Then off to kentucky for tea ... and home ... wi the goldfish swinging from the hooks in the back of the car!!!
Anyway thats memories of easter monday ... whats yours
