Finally ....

... its off ...

Went back to the hospital yesterday and it got cut off .. but and heres the but .. ive got a splint for 4 weeks ... and have to go back to the hospital in 4 weeks and im waiting for physio to ring me for me to go there. I would have done this last nite but i think i overdid it .. having the freedom .. and it hurt so ive been resting it today ..

You could tell its holiday time .. bus is at 8.25am and when i went before we got stuck in a traffic jam at the blackburn end of grane road at the roundabout to the m65 and at guide ... got to the hospital just before 9am ... yesterday i was at the hospital for 8.45 .. my appointment wasnt till 9.10am!!! Glad i went early tho .. bumped into an old workmate there .. he was just going out .. i was going in, hadnt seen him since i left work in 95 .. Anyway into the fracture clinic and the plasterers took the pot off .. and directed to the waiting area to see the doc ... so was bored .. and started scratting all the dry skin away .. it looked like dandruff on my jeans had to wait ages to see the doc .. about 45 mins .. and then he pressed it and does this hurt does this hurt .. and then does this hurt and i let out a yelp ... and he said how long have you had a pot on .. and i said 10th may it went on .. and he said we'll give you a splint rather than another pot and see how you go on with that .. it will have a thumb splint as well as arm .. and come back and see me in 4 weeks. I said and no xray .. he said we'll do an xray when you come back in 4 weeks. and that was that ...

so i now have a navy splint that shows all the dried skin on the inside .. it gives a lot more freedom than the cast.. and i can now wash up, which i did yesterday and it seemed so strange .. putting my hand in water ... and getting used to using the mouse with my right hand again .. i think thats what i overdid it with .. so will have to lower the usage ..

Anyway i got home about 2pm .. went and visited both sisters .. even tho they werent in their hubbys were ... and ive had my gardener around for the last few days .. sunday he weeded the front garden, monday i took him shopping (i did pay his bus fare) so he could carry the stuff home .. and he wire brushed the fence .. and tuesday afternoon he painted part of it .. couldnt get to the rest of it .. so he'll be back ... the gardener is my youngest nephew .. hes on uni break .. till september .. he has a part time job .. which finishes at 9.30am .. so hes free for the rest of the day ...
