not well

Posted 30-08-2005 at 21:17 by shillelagh

Mum hasnt been so well for the last few days. She has been having her chest pains again. She told me I thought she was a hypochondriac and she wouldnt tell me when she wasnt so well because i didnt believe her. Anyway rang the doctors today and had to go through the triage process again before the doctor would come out. Anyway she's got a chest infection and a bit of pleurisy on her left hand side. She'd been in bed all day and when the doctor came i was outside and I told him what was wrong and that she was in bed - we came inside and she was sat in her chair downstairs felt like a bloody idiot when i saw her sitting there! Anyway shes got antibiotics and hopefully she'll be better soon. Her CPN came this afternoon and went upstairs to her to see how she was and it was funny - mum told her off because she was supposed to come and see her last friday but she had an emergency and so couldnt come. Thank god the CPN laughed.

Mum says i dont feed her well enough or if i do the food isnt hot enough! I made her fish, spuds, carrots, celery and broccoli one night - she left it on her knee for 20 mins after i gave it her and said im not eating that its cold! What do you do? I said id warm it up in the microwave and she said no you won't if u do then i won't eat it i said ok then i'll put it in the oven and warm it up there she said no you wont i wont eat it then I said then what do you want me to do with it? She said nothing and then sat with it on her knee and wouldnt let me do anything with it and she didnt eat it either. Then she says i waste food because i throw stuff away when she won't eat it. Tis a catch 22 - if i dont buy what she wants then she goes mad and says i dont buy anything for her and she thats why she's always starving. If i do buy it for her she wont eat it and then its wasted what do you do? Especially at the minute - she loves victoria plums so i buy them for her and she wont eat them - the minute they go off she wants them!

Mum fell last week and those who know me in the chatroom know i had a bad back before it happened. Anyway I picked her up and put my back out even worse and the neck joined in in sympathy! I'm better now but ended up at the doctor's and they said its always going to be a weakspot cos of the car accident i had - crashed the car when i had a fit and ended up with whiplash all over my back & shoulders & neck.

Anyway with any luck mum's going to be better soon - im just going to be fitter than ever running up and down stairs! Any1 else want to get fit? lol

Jen, I know from our conversations sometimes you must feel as if you are living in a nightmare, for God's sake if your siblings aren't helping as they should do, use the money you had invested and have a break with it no matter what, the bloody rewiring can wait. You need your batteries recharged, end of.

Sounds like you have a rough time of it jen, sometimes.
When she goes for respite, make sure you have a bit of YOU time hun. It's amazing what you will feel like when she returns, maybe it's just the break you need.
