Well, Tuesday, me and a friend decided we would go on a shopping trip to Blackpool. Just a girly shopping trip ( no men, the best kind )
We both needed holiday clothes for May when we venture out to Alcudia.
The only thing about going to Blackpool on our own is that we would have to catch a train
Now I know people find this easy, but you see, me and my friend are very much wrapped in cotton wool where our fella's are concerned. If we need to go somewhere, they just get the car out and take us. So here we were, girls let out on our own!! all the way to Blackpool on our own
I'm sure the fella's were worried about us
So Yesterday morning, we were up bright and early. We had decided to catch the 9:35am straight through to Blackpool north, but seen as we were up early, we decided to set off at 9am. We went to the ticket office and bought our tickets. The nice man said " oh If you run, you will catch the 9:05am " ...... Run?? before dinner? jesus.
So in a brisk march, we walked up the steps. We were only waiting 2 minutes, if that, and the train pulled in. On we got, and took our seats. I was pleased cos the train wasn't packed and was quite quiet!! well until Blackburn that was.
Then on got the gobby girls. I don't know what it is about the young girls these days, but they seem to be in competition on who can be the rudest, loudest foul mouthed little chav
The 2 girls were with BOYS there own age, and I think they were trying to Impress.... If only they could have heard themselves!!
This was all the way to Blackpool.
So we hit Blackpool and it was actually warmer there than here. We first went for some Breakfast. Then we hit the shops. I wanted to look in Primark for some T-shirts and things for the boys. Now I have been before, and knew it was behind the tower, but we had to walk up and down the streets for about 5 minutes cos I wasn't really sure where it was
We finally found it!!
Now I like B/pool Primark, it's different to preston's. Preston's look's like a Boot sale, with clothes all over the floor, and not very organized.... B/pool's is a lot bigger, and everything is more organized. The only problem with Primark is, they only have Baskets... no trolly's, so after a while, your arms ache like mad.
We spent about an hour in Primark, then my arms were dropping off having to carry the basket, so we paid and left. We had worked up a terrible thirst, so we found the nearest cafe and downed a drink of Coke so fast that the bubbles hurt my nose!!
After this, we made our way to the sea front. I haven't seen the front since they have re vamped it with the new walk way and steps. We sat on the top step, and watched the waves crashing against the steps. It was really nice and peaceful!
We then decided we would walk back to the train station and see what time our train was.
When we arrived we checked the boards, but we wasn't really sure which one would be Accrington straight through!! ( told ya we have lived a sheltered life )
So after standing there for a couple of minutes looking like complete numpties, we finally went to the ticket office, and asked for info. The lady said " Oh quick, run to door 6, it's just about to leave "
( a lot of running today ) So Bags in hands..... running through train station........ PHEWWWW we just made it.
The train was quiet, and I was glad to see that we hadn't caught the same train back as the GOBBY girls. There was just a man, sat across, reading his paper and minding his own business......(( the best kind of passengers I say ))
So we got into Accrington and got a taxi home and we were home before kids had finished school - RESULT - and the best thing.... We are here today to tell the tale....which if you knew us, you would think it a bloody miracle
