the life of me
Sad day!!

It was our friends funeral today. She passed away last monday, age 59. She had been diagnosed with lung cancer last October.
Even though we knew she didn't have long left, it still comes as a shock when it happens. We were sat on easter monday in our livingroom, when we saw the ambulance outside her house......she had gone!!
That was a week ago, and its been the longest week ever!!! Ginger has been going over every day to check on her Hubby ( I say hubby, they were not married, but after 30 years of being together, they were as good as to me!! But not the government )
thats for another day.
Mrs A, was a lovely women, she would come across to my garden every summer and sit with me for hours chatting about my garden, ( usually where I was going wrong with my flowers.....I never was green fingered )
and she would up date me on the weekly neighborhood gossip ( she was my curtain twitching buddy ) She adopted my eldest son as her own grandchild when he was very young. He would go across to A's and sit for hours talking to her, she never minded, she said he was the most interesting child she had come across.
Today, the funeral home brought her home for 3 hours before her funeral. I couldn't go across, I want to remember her as she was....not where she is now!! After I feel guilty, but I know I can deal with it better this way. Ginger went across, to say goodbye though.
She was very certain what she wanted when she left this life.
She wanted a wicker coffin....... no flowers and no vicar at the Crematorium. She just wanted 3 pieces of music to be played. A friend of hers read a lovely piece about her!! and it touched everyone, and was truly her to a T!!
It was a very quick funeral, and somehow, I felt she deserved all the time in the world!! because she was a fantastic women, but it was just (A)'s style...... NO FUSS!!
It's been a exhausting day and one I will be glad to see the end of!
Goodnight (A) .... R.I.P and if you're reading this ....... feel free to pop by my garden in summer and have a FAF with my flowers!!
We miss you. xxx

R.I.P hope you find comfort in knowing the funeral was just how she wanted. At least her suffering is over.
