Here We Go..........(groan)

I had a phone call at 5 p.m. today. It was the Plumber Senior (Cyril Smith) about the new bathroom. The plumber is due to start work on Monday morning, OK? The conversation went something like this,
Plumber Snr., "We've got a bit of a problem with the job we're doing now. We may not be able to start your job on time."
Me, "So when will you be able to start?"
Plumber Snr., "It might be a couple of days late."
Me, "So about Wednesday instead of Monday? That's not too bad."
Plumber Snr., "Yes, well I'll have to ring you on Friday to let you know. I'm really sorry but we couldn't anticipate this."
Me, "If it can't be helped there's nothing you can do, I suppose, but I have waited 6 weeks already."
Plumber Snr., "I'll ring you on Friday and we'll sort out a date. I'm sorry."

If they start the job mid-week I will have an upside down bathroom over the weekend and they're not going to work Saturday and Sunday, are they? The 3 of us, me, my daughter and my granddaughter, shower or bath every day and with 2 days off that will make 7 days to complete the job.

Good plumbers are like gold-dust, I know. Oh, I could SPIT!
