What a mess!!

Has anyone seen the state of the Golden Cross lately, I noticed yesterday whilst driving past, it looks derelict. Scruffy curtains at the window, paint peeling off all over, what an eyesore.

It was not so long ago Glynn had this pub and it was busy every night and full of families at the weekend eating the fine food which was served.

Look at it now its a disgrace, ist no wonder the pub trade is on its a$$ when the owners of pubs (breweries not tenants) can't even keep them maintained.

I think that everytime I go past it. It used to be a great pub, especially when I worked there

!! All it will take is some better curtains and a lick of paint. I don't care what they do with the inside because i'll never step foot in the place again. This being the problem with it. They could get the nicest most wonderful tenants in and it still wouldn't make a do, the reputation has got that bad now.

I can see the same thing with the Tinker aswell, falling into disrepair. What is it about that little section of Ossy? Tinker, Cross & Fire Station?? When is someone going to realise that these places are just a massive blot on our town?

I quite agree, Lolly, neither will I.

I can do without worrying whether I'll end up getting glassed when I go on a night out.

they say the guy who was the Landlord of the Tinker has now taken over the Cross. Myself I haven't been in either pub for yonks and don't think I will again

Same here in Church with the Commercial,The Stag(its opening soon,no its not,yes it is no its not ad infinitum),The Plough & now The Queens.It seems these days if a pub does'nt get a replacement landlord in pronto then the brewery are prepared to sell it off,especially if it's not making much of a profit.And these days theres a lot of them about.

Yes he has. Hence why the Tinker is slowly falling into disrepair.

Wasnt the queens owned by someone and not the brewery???

Tis ok, just know he passed away around new year and that it stated in his will that the pub had to be kept as a pub, guessing its just waiting for everything to be sorted that side of things then will be re-open

aw thats a shame my grandma and grandad used to have that pub ..... oo about 30 ish years ago - maybe bit less
