Nori brick was used in most of the early brick-build skyscrapers (before reinforced concrete and all the modern building techniques and materials), as they were the only material around strong enough to take the strain. Other available materials would have simply crumbled under the weight.

It drives me mad, too. Living down south people always notice my accent and ask. I usually try to forestall the inevitable reaction by saying, in the same breath, "And don't say it! If you do, I'll scream!!!" And strangely enough they always seem to know what I am talking about, even if they don't know what Accrington Stanley is - but mostly they do.

yea i remember how realistic that film was
in that film the girl was stood at the base of the coppice , she then climbed up 3 or 4 steps and was at the top enjoying the view of accrington
must have been a secret lesbian short cut to the top of the coppice because ive been up there quite a lot and it takes me a while to reach the top

What's known as stage licence Chav ... was only about 10 concrete steps at one time, then straight up at the front, 2 steps up, 1 slide down. Descending was much quicker, all done on the bum so to speak. Picked up many a friction burn then, I can tell ya'

Having lived all over the British Isles I don't think the streets are dirtier than anywhere else. Indeed the people that sweep our streets are particularly good at it, and friendly to boot, as I found out this afternnoon when I passed the time of day with one in Ossy.
