David Lloyd use to go the Accy Tech (up Ossy across from the Palladium). He played Football for Cambridge St, Methodists and cricket for Lanc Schoolboys, Accrington, Lancs CC and England. His son Graham played for Lancs CC.
David (who I use to know quite well), had a sports shop on Blackburn Road, and finally moved out of Accy to Cheshire where he still lives as far as I know. He started commentating on the TV, and I occasionally still hear his twang on the radio. A good lad, and a very good sportsman,and....One of our own!! |
