Kenneth Ball

Kenneth Ball. Now you all may be wondering, who is this? Kenneth's father, many many years ago, ran a carpet business on Bridge Street, Accrington. After leaving Accrington Grammar School, and as a 27 year old, in 1956, Kenneth began to sell motoring books, just part-time. Then he started publishing "Autobooks". Remember them? This was immediately very successful and he eventually sold the copyright and his company for £1.3 million. An Accrington man made good! He married a Huncoat girl called Mary Philips.
