One of the finest railway engineers the world has known, and... guess what... he went to Accrington Grammar School. He lived with a relative, William Sanderson, in Oswaldtwistle. He was the 6th pupil to be enrolled when the Grammar School (then known as The Accrington Technical School) opened in 1899. He died in 1970

But I do know that the windshields at the front sides of some railway steam engines made them be called "Bullied" engines. I've always wondered how that name came about...and now I think I've found the answer!! Thanks Atarah.
